The project seeks to improve the efficiency of rail transport operations, particularly in last-mile processes, through digitalization, better coordination among stakeholders, and the implementation of innovative ICT tools.

As a project partner, AIN supports efforts to assess and improve existing railway business processes by providing its expertise in transport safety and operational analysis. The agency plays a role in the identification of key challenges within rail logistics, contributing insights that help shape strategies for better coordination and process harmonization. Additionally, AIN is involved in methodology development, supporting the creation of guidelines and tools that will enhance operational efficiency and safety in intermodal transport.

Through its participation in knowledge-sharing and dissemination activities, AIN helps ensure that project findings reach relevant stakeholders, fostering collaboration and awareness within the railway sector. The agency will also contribute to transferability efforts, helping to expand the project’s impact beyond the initial pilot locations by identifying potential applications of the developed solutions in other railway nodes. By taking part in these activities, AIN supports the overall goal of CROSSFREIGHT—to create a more efficient, seamless, and sustainable intermodal transport system that enhances connectivity and competitiveness in the region.

PROJECT PARTNERS

LP1 ITL – Institute for Transport and Logistics Foundation Italia (IT)

PP2 Adriafer – ADRIAFER S.R.L.
