Summary:

On May 29, 2024, at approximately 7 pm, the excursion passenger ship Burin ran aground southeast of the islet of Galija, within the Brijuni National Park. Following the incident, all passengers were safely evacuated without injuries. The vessel was successfully refloated the following afternoon during high tide, using its own propulsion with additional assistance from another vessel. No marine pollution occurred.

A safety investigation into this Marine accident has been initiated, and its findings will be publicly released in the form of a final report on the website of the Agency for the Investigation of Accidents in Air, Marine, and Railway Transport.
