On October 9, 2024, at 10:38 p.m., on railway line M202 at km 480+990, five freight tank wagons as part of train no. 81111, operated by ENNA Transporti, derailed.
No injuries were reported, but significant material damage occurred to the railway infrastructure and wagons.
The Air, Maritime and Railway Traffic Accidents Investigation Agency received notification of the accident from HŽ Infrastruktura at 11:23 p.m., and investigators were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Train no. 81111 had been dispatched from station Šoići to station Sisak Caprag.
The train consisted of 29 wagons carrying diesel fuel and gas, the five derailed wagons were loaded with diesel fuel.
After analyzing the collected data, the Chief Railway Accident Investigator concluded that the investigation of this event would provide additional insights into railway system safety, in accordance with Article 127, Paragraph 2 of the Railway Safety and Interoperability Act (“Official Gazette”, No. 63/20).
