On 18 September 2026 at approximately 10:00 local time, following take-off from Sopot Airfield, Vinkovci, a Rodaro Kangaroo ultralight aircraft without registration marks crashed into a cornfield in the immediate vicinity of the airfield. The pilot, who was the sole occupant of the aircraft, was fatally injured.
The Air, Maritime and Railway Traffic Accident Investigation Agency was notified of the occurrence immediately after the accident by the Operational Communication Centre of the Ministry of the Interior and initiated a safety investigation in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 996/2010.
Immediately upon receiving notification of the occurrence, the Agency’s aviation accident investigators went to the accident site to conduct an on-site investigation.
Upon completion of the safety investigation, the results will be published on the Agency’s website in the form of a Final Report.
