It is recommended that INA – Industrija nafte, d.d. establish internal regulations mandating that, in the event of an anemometer failure or the inability to reliably determine wind speed and/or direction at the INA tanker terminal in Kaštelanski Basin C of the Split North Port in Solin, the relevant parties be notified. The anemometer malfunction should be rectified as soon as possible, and while the vessel is moored, terminal personnel should rely on the vessel’s anemometer. Until a reliable method of measuring wind speed and direction at the terminal is restored, prevailing and forecasted weather conditions should be assessed to determine whether vessel arrival, stay, and departure can be conducted safely.
